Jirrahlinga again...
So we went to Jirrahlinga again - I won't bore you with much commentary on it this time, but I have tried to get some pictures of animals we didn't get the last time - a white peacock, for example - I have never seen one before, and it was quite a sight:
Also managed to get a good wombat close up this time - they really are the cutest animals ever - I would love to pick one up for a cuddle, but they do have alarmingly long claws.
Was chuffed to get this great shot of a joey in its mother's pouch - watched it climb in headfirst and it's very freaky when you see it turn around on the inside. Thoughts of John Hurt in Alien spring to mind, but then, I know what it feels like to be John Hurt in Alien, with an ever expanding gut and the feeling that the creature is going to break out the front at any moment...
Also got a picture of these two lovely cockatoos - or something similar. They were really good at saying hello, but we were in stitches though when we were leaving as one of the big parrots at the gate was doing a PERFECT imitation of Will's whiney cry.... He couldn't see why that was funny, for some reason! And finally, some more Australian icons - koalas and roos. Probably the last for a while!
