Slap another shrimp on the barbie...

Christmas, Geelong style... The children were not up ridiculously early, thank goodness, and we all opened presents together at about 8am. It was all too much for Phoebe who went back to sleep by about 10!

Ella was bowled over by her new dolls' house - complete with garden accessories including a vegetable patch - and the boy's main present was a Nintendo Wii which they have barely been away from since then.

Was determined that in having a strange, non-traditional Christmas in the sun, we would have a non-traditional Christmas dinner (at least by my standards) - so we ate outside and had a big barbecue with prawns and sausages. Nick proved a very able chef, and it was yum, but really not a patch on turkey with all the trimmings!

At one point when things were getting a little fraught, Will shouted 'Oi!! No fighting on Jesus' birthday - how old is Jesus anyway?' Ummm - ecclesiastical debate aside - 2008?

Nick's culinary repertoire has now expanded to include sushi - mostly to address James' ever increasing appetite for it - and here's what he put together a couple of days after Christmas. We were all impressed and have requested more soon.

And on the subject of expanding repertoires, Phoebe can now pull up to standing and climb stairs. Oh heck.

And James has a new alter-ego - Captain Underpants... I believe Captain Underpants has a sidekick too, Master Underpants, who may be appearing in photos soon...
