Great Ocean Road Trip to Lorne

Just a few pics from our trip down the Great Ocean Road to Lorne a couple of weekends ago. It was a scorching day, beatiful blue skies the whole way till we rounded the last headland and saw a big black cloud.... right over Lorne!! Lovely little seaside town though.

We had great fun on the trampolines (those of us who have had four children approach these with a healthy respect...) though Will had a bit of trouble staying on his own one. Or any one, in fact.

Then I turned into the Kraken and chased the children round the playpark. As you can see, Will came to a sticky end at the hands of the Kraken, but James managed to escape to tell the tale.

Had lunch beside the beach, where Ella decided to take a self-portrait with the camera - she still has a bit to learn about composition and centring.

Then we went for a beach walk - James tried to tease the waves by doing the 'Na na na na na' dance, and then we looked at all the funny rock shapes made by volcanic lava flow - you can see the big round bubbles heading all the way into the sea, and also the bubbly rocks.

Had to laugh - all the way along the Great Ocean Road are signs reminding you to drive on the left in Australia. How exactly do they think you got 100 miles from the nearest international airport or cruise terminal without realising that? Does anyone get that far and think 'Gee, if only I'd known sooner...' Have asked around and no-one seems to think there has ever been an issue with anyone driving on the wrong side of the road, so maybe they had a use-it-or-lose-it sign budget and just fancied something a bit random.
